Phase 2 appointments are now being made available through the official 2026 Passport Intervention Exercise (UK) booking portal.

Nigeria Passport Intervention UK: Phase 2
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), working with the Nigeria High Commission in London, launched a special passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the UK.
The exercise is designed to help applicants with new passport applications, renewals, re-issues and other eligible passport services complete their applications and biometric enrolment through designated intervention centres.
The live intervention booking form currently includes Phase 2 options for London, Manchester and Cardiff, with applicants required to select their intervention location and appointment.
The intervention is particularly useful for Nigerians who have been waiting for passport services or who need to renew their Nigerian passport without travelling to Nigeria.
How to Apply for a Nigerian Passport in the UK
The passport application itself is completed online before you attend the intervention centre.
Step 1: Start your Nigerian passport application online
Begin your passport application through the official Nigeria Immigration Service passport system.
Apply for a Nigerian Passport Online
The NIS says applicants should complete the online application, provide their personal information, verify their NIN and upload the required supporting documents. For standard applications, the process then moves to payment and appointment booking.
For applicants outside Nigeria, make sure you select the appropriate outside Nigeria option rather than applying through the domestic processing route.
Step 2: Complete your application carefully
Enter your details exactly as they appear on your Nigerian documents.

Bring a prepaid Royal Mail C4 Special Delivery self-addressed envelope so the processed passport can be returned to you.
The High Commission states that passports are mailed back after biometric enrolment rather than being physically collected.
What If Your Passport Is Lost, Damaged or Misplaced?
Lost, damaged and misplaced passports can have additional requirements.
The High Commission lists a £150 charge for lost, misplaced or damaged passports, along with additional supporting documents depending on the circumstances.
These can include documents such as:
Police report for a lost passport
Letter explaining the circumstances
Copy of the old passport data page, where available
Guarantor's Nigerian passport data page
